Super Typhoon Mawar is expected to further intensify, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to the Philippines. Stay informed and prepared for the storm's potential impact.

The Philippines is bracing itself for a powerful typhoon as Super Typhoon Mawar continues to intensify in the Pacific Ocean. Mawar is currently located 1,245 kilometers east of Central Luzon and is moving west northwest at 25 kph. It is expected to make landfall over Aurora-Isabela area on Wednesday night or Thursday morning. PAGASA warned that Mawar could bring heavy rain and strong winds across much of the country, especially in the northern and eastern parts of the Philippines.

In preparation for the typhoon, PAGASA has issued a gale warning over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon including Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Burias Island, Masbate including Ticao Island and Northern Samar. These areas should expect strong winds and rough seas that could pose a danger to small vessels such as fishing boats.

PAGASA also advised residents living in areas affected by Mawar to take necessary precautions against possible flash floods and landslides due to heavy rains. People should also be aware of strong winds that could damage homes and other structures. The agency urged everyone to stay informed about the latest weather updates and warnings issued by PAGASA.
