Kai Sotto, an 18-year-old Filipino basketball player, is eager to represent Gilas Pilipinas in the upcoming FIBA World Cup. After being selected as part of the national team's roster, Sotto is ready to put his skills to the test and prove that he has what it takes to compete against some of the best players in the world.
Sotto has already made a name for himself in the Philippines and abroad. He was part of Ateneo de Manila University's high school basketball team and won multiple championships during his time there. He also had a stint with the NBA G League Ignite team before deciding to focus on playing for Gilas Pilipinas.
Sotto is confident that he can contribute to the team's success in the FIBA World Cup. He believes that his size and athleticism will be beneficial for the team, especially when they face taller opponents. He also aims to be a leader on and off the court and hopes to inspire other young Filipinos to pursue their dreams.
"I'm really excited to be part of this team," said Sotto. "I'm going to do my best to make sure we have a successful campaign in China."
The FIBA World Cup will take place from August 31st until September 15th in China. Gilas Pilipinas will face off against teams from all over the world, including Italy, Serbia, Angola, and Tunisia. It will be a tough challenge for Sotto and his teammates but one that they are more than willing to take on.
